Academic Research Article
An academic research article is a structured contribution that reports an investigation and positions its findings within previous scholarship.
学术研究论文用学科认可的结构报告研究,并说明结果如何进入已有的学术对话。
Section Functions
| section | central question |
|---|---|
| abstract | Is this relevant, and what did the study broadly find? |
| introduction / literature review | What is already known, and why is this study needed? |
| methods | How was the investigation carried out? |
| results | What data or outcomes were produced? |
| discussion | What do the results mean, and what are the limitations? |
| references | Which earlier contributions does this article use? |
Humanities articles may replace the standard methods-results-discussion middle with an argument developed through primary texts and analysis.
Reading Principle
Do not assume that effective reading must follow page order. Use the abstract and conclusion to judge relevance, then choose sections according to the question you need to answer.
Peer review increases scrutiny but does not turn a paper into absolute truth. A paper remains a revisable status report within Academic Conversation.
When judging a study, check sample size, distinguish correlation from causation, and ask whether the evidence actually supports the stated conclusion.
