Course Status / 课程性质

这是一门 非 UBC 官方课程的暑期大学预备写作课。

课程笔记用于提前建立 academic writing 的思考与表达框架；涉及 citation、AI use、academic integrity、作业格式或处罚时，最终必须以未来实际课程的 syllabus、assignment instructions 与学校官方政策为准。

Course Goal / 课程目标

这门课不是把高中英语写得更华丽，而是训练一种大学写作的工作方式：

read and question
-> form a nuanced thesis
-> build an argument structure
-> guide the reader through the reasoning
-> draft
-> revise language and style

Strong academic writing begins with a defensible idea and a clear line of reasoning, not with sophisticated vocabulary.
