Reader-Centered Writing
Core Sentence / 核心句
Reader-centered writing arranges context, claims, evidence, and transitions so the reader can follow and evaluate the reasoning without reconstructing missing connections.
Reader Questions /
- What is the problem?
- Why does it matter?
- What exactly is the claim?
- What evidence supports it?
- How does the evidence support it?
- Under what conditions does it hold?
- What about the strongest objection?
- Why does this section come next?
Introduction Bridge /
hook
-> link and context
-> thesis
-> organizational statementSentence and Paragraph Flow / 句段推进
- continuation;
- cause;
- contrast;
- example;
- qualification;
- consequence。
Clarity Standard /
The reader’s effort should go into evaluating the idea, not decoding the prose.
Watch Out / 易错点
- 缺少 context,直接抛 thesis;
- hook 与 argument 无关;
- 句子之间只有 topic 相似,没有逻辑关系;
- 用长句和罕见词制造额外理解负担;
- organizational statement 只是机械目录;
